A standby generator can restore power automatically to the circuits included in your backup plan. The right installation brings together your household priorities, generator capacity, transfer equipment, fuel supply and a suitable outdoor location. Start with what you want to keep running; Mister Safety can help you understand the installation options.
The right backup plan begins with your household—not a kilowatt number. Choose the priorities you would like to discuss. This creates a conversation checklist, not a generator size or an installation quote.

Connecting the home and powering every appliance at once are different things. Your proposal should identify the included circuits, the demand the system can support, and any loads that may pause.

Mister Safety includes a purchased 10-year Generac extended limited warranty on eligible equipment. Your written proposal must identify the covered equipment and applicable terms. Eligibility, registration, maintenance requirements and exclusions apply.
Equipment coverage is separate from our qualifying installation workmanship: labor-only coverage follows the standard 36-month term, or a 12-month discounted term disclosed before approval. Routine maintenance is separate; Mister Safety does not currently offer generator maintenance.
The exact equipment agreement defines covered defects, time periods, costs and exclusions.
Your proposal identifies any included purchased 10-year Generac extension and its applicable terms.
Mister Safety’s qualifying generator installation coverage is labor-only, separately defined by our warranty policy.

Find the answer you need now, then return to your installation estimate when you are ready. You do not need to choose a model before contacting us.
The best coverage plan starts with what your household needs during an outage.
Generator sizing depends on what will run together and what must start while other equipment is operating.
An automatic standby system changes the source supplying the connected installation after the generator is ready.
Generac's catalog includes different generations of home standby equipment.
A larger electrical demand can call for a different class of standby system.
The right fuel choice depends on the supply available at your address and the system your property can support.
A suitable generator location depends on the selected equipment and the property.
A standby installation moves through assessment, equipment selection, approvals, preparation, installation and startup.
The equipment price is only one part of a standby generator project.
Your generator equipment and the work used to install it have different warranty responsibilities.
A standby generator needs ongoing care even when outages are uncommon.
Start with what you want to keep running during an outage: your refrigerator, lights, internet, air conditioning or a pump. You do not need to pick a generator size before speaking with us. We assess the equipment, electrical demand, fuel supply and property before recommending a system.
The terms below describe different parts of that plan. A bigger number or a whole-home label by itself does not tell you whether a system fits your home.
Kilowatts (kW) describe power output. Appliances share that available power, and some need an extra burst to start. The right size depends on the loads you want running together, their starting needs and the generator’s rating for the selected fuel—not just your home’s square footage.
A system can connect to the home’s electrical supply without being able to run every appliance at once. Your proposal should explain which circuits are included, what can operate together and whether any appliances need to wait.
This equipment switches the connected circuits between utility power and generator power while keeping those sources properly separated. Automatic backup normally includes a short interruption while the generator starts and the system transfers; it is not the same as uninterrupted battery power.
Compatible controls can temporarily pause selected appliances when demand is high, then allow them to run again as capacity becomes available. Think of it as setting priorities for shared power. Your plan should identify what can pause and how those priorities work.
Natural gas uses an available utility supply; propane uses stored fuel in a tank that needs refilling. Either option needs a properly designed fuel supply. The fuel can also change the generator’s rated output, and neither option promises unlimited runtime under every outage condition.
A warranty covers qualifying problems under its written terms. Maintenance is routine care needed to keep the equipment ready and meet applicable ownership requirements. An extended warranty does not automatically include routine service. Mister Safety does not currently offer generator maintenance; plan aftercare with an appropriate provider.
Tell us what you want to keep running, whether you already have natural gas or propane, and any questions about your property. We can then explain the proposed equipment, coverage, installation scope and price. You approve a defined plan rather than having to decipher the catalog yourself.
