Compare generations, not just kilowatts.

The current U.S. Generac catalog includes cellular home standby equipment alongside familiar Wi-Fi Guardian products. Controls, fuel-specific output, connectivity and package contents can differ even when two products share a kilowatt label.

These are product-family guides, not a local stocking list. We confirm the exact equipment, configuration and availability in your proposal.

What a model comparison should include.

A generator-only listing is different from a package that includes a transfer switch. Identify switch size and type, compatible controls, any load-management devices and installation exclusions before comparing prices.

Guardian G0070430 is a verified 22 kW propane / 19.5 kW natural-gas example with Evolution controls, Wi-Fi and a listed 200 A switch package. The newer cellular family uses Power Zone 200 controls. Avoid assuming their accessories or maintenance documents are interchangeable.

Larger and specialized systems need a different conversation.

The catalog includes larger liquid-cooled Protector and XG equipment as well as international and three-phase configurations. They should not be mixed into an ordinary U.S. residential comparison without checking voltage, phase and application.

EcoGen is a specialized off-grid/renewable-energy application. It is not the default alternative to a utility-backup system, and this guide does not advertise battery installation or an off-grid package.

Monitoring and warranties need their own review.

Cellular connectivity does not mean all monitoring features are free. Some alerts and real-time updates have subscription requirements. An app does not establish a maintenance contract or automatic technician dispatch.

Ask for the manufacturer warranty and any purchased extension in writing. A five-year or ten-year headline is not a complete description of covered parts, labor, travel or exclusions.
