Identify the supply first
Choose the connection from the RV’s verified input requirements. TT-30 and NEMA 14-50 are different supply configurations. The property’s capacity, intended use and installation location then determine the project.

Look at the supply end of the shore cord and the RV’s input information. A detachable or locking connection on the RV itself may look different; do not compare the wrong end of the cord.
Receptacle markings such as 125V and 125/250V are device ratings. Nominal home supply descriptions of 120V and 120/240V describe the electrical system. These different numbers do not contradict each other.

A theoretical illustration uses nominal voltage multiplied by current: 120 × 30 = 3,600 volt-amperes (VA) for TT-30; 120 × 50 × 2 = 12,000 VA across both legs of a typical home 14-50 supply. The 50A arrangement still has a limit on each leg.
These figures illustrate supply configurations. They do not predict actual consumption or permit every load to run continuously at the circuit rating. Watts approximately match these VA figures for unity-power-factor loads. The 50A connection is not a 100A branch circuit.
Maintaining an RV in storage and using its onboard equipment can create different demands. Tell us the intended use without assuming it changes the RV’s input requirements or creates permission to occupy it.
The number of air conditioners, RV size or brand name is not a substitute for the actual rating and manual. A future RV may have different requirements, so include a model or shortlist when available.

Discuss equipment before buying an outlet or assuming the house has capacity.
A purpose-built adapter may be permitted by the applicable RV and adapter instructions. Available power remains limited by the source. A lower-rated connection may require managing what runs at the same time.
An adapter does not certify supply voltage, grounding, circuit condition or required protection. Installing a larger house-side receptacle also does not upgrade the RV’s internal electrical system.

After identifying the input, review service capacity, required protection, the actual route and complete outdoor assembly. A long route may change the design even when the RV connection stays the same.
The electrician selects equipment and conductors for the actual job. Do not select a breaker or wire size from a plug photograph or use an exterior picture as proof that a supply is suitable.
TT-30 is the familiar 30A RV connection with a nominal 120-volt supply. A typical home 50A 14-50 arrangement has two 120-volt legs, so the total available power can be much greater.
More available power does not make every outlet or adapter suitable. The RV’s requirements, property supply and outdoor installation still need to agree. If you are unsure, “not sure” is enough to start an estimate request; you do not need to open equipment or test anything.
125V is the receptacle’s marked device rating. 120V is the nominal supply description used for a standard TT-30 installation.
The common RV configurations use different supplies. The usual home 50A arrangement has two 120-volt legs; it is not simply the 30A configuration with a larger breaker.
Only as allowed by the applicable RV and adapter instructions, with reduced available power and any required load management. An adapter does not make an unknown outlet suitable.
Compare the current and proposed equipment, assessed capacity, route and cost. A future upgrade is a planning choice, not an automatic recommendation.
A safely accessible exterior photo may identify visible markings. It cannot establish circuit condition, grounding, protection or available capacity.
