Can fit some routines when one car needs little energy or the vehicles can take turns. Consider whether moving cars or swapping the cable is realistic.

Two independent installations

Convenient access for both cars. Each supply and the combined demand must be assessed; simultaneous maximum power is not automatic.

Compatible managed charging

A supported system can allocate a configured allowance. Confirm the exact equipment and whether it manages charger power, household demand, or both.

Plan the cable routes around how you really park.

Measure the practical path with slack and check each vehicle’s charge-port position. Parking nose-in versus backing in can change reach. A cable should not become an extension-cord problem or cross a busy walking route.

Actual reach depends on the car’s port, parking direction, mounting position and safe cable path.

Daily energy is more useful than adding two maximum ratings.

Using illustrative assumptions of 3 miles per battery kWh and 90% wall-to-battery efficiency, cars driven 40 and 60 miles need about 37.04 kWh from the wall combined. Across eight hours, that is 4.63 kW average input; across four hours, it is 9.26 kW.

This calculation does not approve a circuit or guarantee both cars are ready. One may arrive later or leave earlier, and interruptions, vehicle limits and the permitted management system change the result.

Make room for the next car without promising unlimited expansion.

Discuss a likely second EV before selecting the first charger location. Route planning, conduit space, parking access and equipment choice may help a future project, but they do not reserve electrical capacity automatically.

Bring both model years, normal mileage, arrival and departure times and the parking arrangement. Ask the written scope to identify what is included now and what a later second charger would require.

Do two EVs need twice the maximum charging power?

Can any two smart chargers share power?

No. Use an exact supported system and professionally approved design.

Can one cable reach either vehicle?

It depends on realistic parking positions, charge-port locations and slack. Do not plan to solve an unsuitable location with an extension cord.
