Identify the people responsible for computers, servers, checkout equipment or other systems before agreeing an interruption. The building electrician’s work and the IT team’s orderly shutdown, data protection and restart tasks are different responsibilities.
Do not assume a workstation can keep running while its supply is affected. Tell the team which operations depend on power, who will contact staff, and what checks the business needs after restoration.
An office may need to consider both an interruption and a short voltage disturbance. Specify the equipment and the business objective before selecting a product; a small backup unit is not a whole-suite power supply.

A circuit is a supply path. Several workstation outlets may share one path, so adding outlets does not necessarily add power capacity. Repeated trips need an assessment of the cause, not an assumption that a larger breaker is the answer.
Load is the electrical demand of the equipment. The electrician considers what the office plans to use and what the system can support, rather than simply counting plugs.
Voltage and phase describe parts of the supply a machine is designed to use. They need to match the actual equipment requirements. A 208-volt supply should not be treated as automatically interchangeable with 240 volts for every machine.
A UPS is a backup device for suitable connected equipment. How long it runs depends on the unit and the load. Surge protection addresses voltage disturbances; it does not by itself keep the office operating through an outage.
